NYA's Annual Vacation
New Year’s Day in Japan is a preparation day to welcome toshigami (年神), the new year’s god. Buddhist temples ring their bells 108 times at midnight to repent all 108 of the bonnō (煩悩), defilements, which people are said to have in their minds. This tradition is called joya no kane (除夜の鐘) which means “bell rings on new year eve’s night.”

Happy Holidays
New York Adorned will be closing at 5 pm on Christmas Eve and closed Christmas Day. We will pick up all presents left outside the door on December 26th. Happy Holidays!
